My favorite stores for pretty, comfy, and stylish clothes for the classroom:

  • Target for pearly-button cardigans, cute ballet flats, and tanks that don’t gap or dip too low
  • J. Crew outlet for twirly skirts, cotton v-neck sweaters in bright, eye-catching colors, classy polos, and layering…

I feel like we have missed the whole male teacher demographic with this post. I am all for dressing like a professional and since I am still in college I always try to do a little impressing with what I wear.

I have an unhealthy relationship with J. Crew & Banana Republic Outlets. I buy my dress shirts and pants at those two stores but not my ties. I go to JC Penny’s or Kohl’s for ties (I’m a skinny tie guy). On casual days I go for jeans and polo. Any polo you can wear on a golf course is a good way to go. If you can wear shorts, which I would avoid unless the heat of pants will kill you, I use the same rule I use for polos: acceptable on a nice golf course, then acceptable at school. I usually buy golf polos from Adidas, Nike, or Puma Outlets or TJ Maxx.

TJ Maxx is a great store for everything.

My feet have a harmful relationship with Puma, so I go for Pumas whenever I need new shoes. I do move around a lot in the classroom so I usually go for tennis shoes or sneakers anything that keeps my feet from hurting. My shoes are always quite outlandish though. My input for shoes my not be the most helpful.

Agreed. Dockers khakis and Croft and Barrow polos for me. Relatively cheaper and mixing and matching is a lot easier.

I’ll occasionally also do the euro-cut button ups a size smaller (because my frame just works that way) with sleeves rolled up and skinny ties.

All of the above from Kohl’s and/or Target.
